Why I Stopped: There's something so magical and inspiring about Sararose and her style. It's simultaneously chic and whimsical. Just like her personality. When I saw her walking down the street, I grabbed my camera, jumped up from my seat where I had been sipping tea, and ran across the street. I'm sure she and her friends thought I was insane. But I had to capture her amazing look. And I'm so glad she let me.
So that sense of whimsy? Sararose just happens to run an adorable website and Insta account called Dressed in Disney (Insta here). That's on top of her ethical fashion store, SARAROSE. She's clearly a style guru (and clearly quite busy being awesome).
There are so many great parts of this look that I could point out. The jacket has me screaming. It's incredible. The oversized, fur-lined peaks on the lapel frame Sararose's face in show-stopping fashion, and the deep black of the coat allows her blonde hair to shine, creating a secondary, all-natural frame for her face. The coat is balanced by detailed maroon tights (yup, maroon!) and a pair of high heels that let you know Sararose is clearly in charge. And she is. Of her style, her business, and her life.
Then there are the accessories. OHMAHGAWD. Sararose's oversized sunglasses provide a clear focal point right at her eyes. Just look at those tips flaring out! But it's the black turban that sits on top of Sararose's head that's the real attention-getter. Black was the perfect choice, of course, because the turban itself already demands to be noticed. It's an unconventional but perfect choice to complete an incredible fall ensemble.
Style Tip Challenge: Don't be afraid to take a risk with your accessories. As we saw with Sararose's sunglasses and turban, the key is how you blend a statement piece into a look. If it's full of flair in its form or construction, it probably doesn't need to be a bold color as well. The piece will stand out simply because it's unexpected.
