WHY I STOPPED: As far as I'm concerned, we can all just go home now because Anika has shut. it. down. Game over. Fall style conquered. Thanks for playing.
But fa real. Anika's look is flawless from head to toe. And if that isn't enough, it's all the more perfect because it's a look that can be pulled off no matter your gender. Don't believe me? Here's how to make it your own.
This look is almost entirely monochromatic. From motocycle jacket to undershirt to pants, the look is basically shades of black. The details in the sleeves of her jacket are incredible, but you can pull this look off with a more conventional moto jacket. Pair your jacket with a black undershirt (guys: go for an extra-long black undershirt instead of a crop top) and a pair of black skinny jeans, and you'll have the base for this look down.
THE MAGIC COMES with Anika's insanely smart placement of another major fall trend: red flannel. She could've worn the flannel shirt unbuttoned over her undershirt. Instead, Anika goes for the unexpected: a half-poncho look (ponchos are so in right now!). The pop of red breaks up all the black at her waist without feeling overwhelming, and it adds some stunning dimension and shape around her hips. What a flash of brilliance!
Anika accessorizes her look with the perfect detals: a black hat with red snap-strap turned backwards; a gold-rimmed Daniel Wellington watch with a streak of red, and a pair of white high-top kicks. There's nothing that I would change about Anika's look, and I'm so glad that she flew all the way here to Chicago from St. Petersburg, Russia to check out our amazing city and show off a style that all of us can make our own.
STYLE TIP CHALLENGE: This is one of those looks that I'm just going to encourage you to rip off completely. Don't be afraid of snagging that moto jacket and some red flannel this season. While they'll work perfectly for pulling off this look, each garment is ridiculously versatile, and you'll be able to get a ton of use from each piece across multiple looks.
